240 new Covid-19 cases registered on Saturday; nationwide tally hits 267,056
KATHMANDU: Nepal on Saturday reported 240 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 267,056.
Of the total cases, 87 are females while 153 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 131 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Likewise, 477 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 261,044 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.8 per cent.
Nepal’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 4,058.
Meanwhile, six more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 1,954.
According to the health ministry, 3,819 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,008,944 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 231 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
Globally, more than 93.8 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.01 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 66.5 million people have recovered from the disease and over 24 million cases are still active.
On Friday, Nepal’s coronavirus case count reached 266,816 with 270 newly confirmed cases.
