250 households displaced, toddler found dead in Bara

BARA: As many as 250 households have been displaced due to flooding and inundation caused by continuous rainfall in Bara district.

Among these households, 35 have been dislodged from Ramauli of ward-8, 25 from Naya Basti of ward-10, 25 from Harpur of ward-24 in Jeetpur-Simara Submetropolis. Likewise, 80 to 90 households have been displaced in Triveni and 40 households in Rajghatiya, both in ward-1 of Pheta Rural Municipality, according to police.

Spokesperson of Bara Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjit Singh Rathore, informed that among the households displaced, 20 households have become inundated in ward 4 and 15 of Bishrampur Rural Municipality and Khudiyatol.

The displaced families have been safely re-located to schools, dharma-shala and other houses of the neighbourhood with required arrangments.

Meanwhile, an eighteen-month-old toddler has died in the district while playing in his backyard after drowning in a stream, on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Vikki Yadav, son of Arvinda Yadav of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-1.

The body of the deceased has been kept at Gandak Hospital in Birgunj of Parsa district.
