Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 728,532 on Friday with 2,763 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 679,495 with 2,118 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,239 with 27 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 18,582 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,708 were PCR tests while 6,874 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,740,817 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 1,152 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 3,915.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.3%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 38,798.

So far, a total of 7,883,107 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,659,414 have received the first dose while only 3,223,693 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

In the same time frame, 799 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 128 and 162 cases respectively.

Currently, there are 439 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 725,769 with 2,473 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 206 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 185 million people have recovered while more than 16 million cases are still active.
