JANAKPURDHAM: Three girls, aged three to five, were crushed to death by a tractor at Goth Koyalpur of Dhanusha district on Wednesday morning.

Driver lost control of the tractor, which was laden with bricks, after witnessing problem with its steering when the vehicle fatally fell upon the local girls on the roadside, according to police. The tractor was coming from a brick kiln in Giddha Kalapatti.

The victims were attending the call of nature on the roadside at the time of the incident that took place at around 11 am.

They died on the spot, said Inspector Pawan Kanta Jha at the Yadukoha-based Area Police Office.

Their bodies were taken to the Janakpur Zonal Hospital for autopsy and handed over to the bereaved families for last rites, according to police.
