KATHMANDU: At least three persons, including two women, died and three others sustained injuries when a landslide struck Karauja VDC-3 of Gorkha district on Tuesday.

According to DSP Birendra Thapa of the District Police Office, Gorkha, the deceased have been identified as Kaji Maya Gurung (45), Kin Maya Gurung (35) and Sandeep Ghale Gurung (15).

Thapa said that Suk Ram Gurung, Tange Gurung and Ukal Gurung were injured in the incident.

The injured are receiving treatment at a local health post.

Police said that the incident took place while they were repairing a road that was damaged by the last year's earthquake.
