3 dead, 21 hurt as bus plunges 100m in Doti

DOTI: At least three people died on the spot and 21 others sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling on met with an accident in Baddi Kedar Rural Municipality-2 in Doti district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Mina Devi Pun Magar (35), Jagadish Chand (45) and Pushpa Jethara (3), a daughter of Lokendra Jethara, all the residents of Baddi Kedar Rural Municipality-4 in Doti.

The bus (Na 3 Kha 5648) heading to Dhangadhi from Barchhain, skidded off the road and fell about 100 metres below, killing three passengers and injuring 13 men, four women and four children at Khadyuli yesterday, according to police.

Of the injured passengers, five are said to be in critical condition.

The BP Nagar-based Area Police Office (APO) and the Traffic Police Office with the help of locals, rescued the passengers.

The injured have been taken to a health institution in Dhangadhi, Kailali for treatment.

DOTI: At least three people have been killed and eighteen others sustained injuries after a bus they were traveling on met with an accident at Kadyuli, Buddi Kedar Rural Municipality-2 on Thursday.

The injured have been taken to Dhangadhi, Kailali for treatment.

It has been learned that the deceased hailed from the same Baddi Kedar Rural Municipality in the district.

The ill-fated bus (Na 3 Kha 5648) was heading to Dhangadhi from Barchhen in the district, according to police.
