Whistle rally held in Khotang
Khotang, March 14
Federation of Indigenous Nationalities Khotang Chapter has taken out a whistle rally after the local level restructuring commission did not include the history, language, religion, and culture of the indigenous nationalities while restructuring local bodies in Diktel, Khotang today.
The federation said that local bodies were named against the constitution of 2015 and the restructuring commission’s work plan. The federation accused the state of trying to end the identity of indigenous nationalities in the name of state restructuring.
Chairman of the federation Hattiram Rai said that the state was not ready to mention the conservation, preservation, special and autonomous areas of indigenous nationalities in the course of restructuring. He said that they had taken out the protest rally as part of their protest programme announced for May 2 to April 20.
The rally turned into corner meeting where Rai and central member of the federation Muliwa Natshering addressed the programme.
