38,287 active cases, nationwide caseload moves to 752,863

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 25

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 752,863 on Wednesday with 1,862 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 703,964 with 1,781 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,612 with 44 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 15,290 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,711 were PCR tests while 5,579 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,859,015 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 620 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,482.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 38,287.

So far, a total of 8,866,396 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,956,455 have received the first dose while only 3,909,941 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 396 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 515 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 88 and 142 cases respectively.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 751,001 with 2,020 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 214 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 191 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
