NAWALPUR, MARCH 21
The construction of the Narayanghat-Butwal four-lane road has gained momentum, with 47 kilometers of blacktopping completed in the eastern section from Gaindakot to Daunne. With this the project has achieved 58.7% physical progress so far in the 65-kilometer stretch, according to the Narayanghat-Butwal Road Project (Eastern Section) Office.
Blacktopping is currently being carried out at a rapid pace in Devchuli Municipality following the completion of 16 kilometers in the Gaindakot area.
The project has also seen the construction of 22 small bridges along the Devchuli road section. However, these bridges are not yet operational for vehicles as the connecting link roads remain incomplete, stated Shiva Khanal, the project's Information Officer.
Rakesh Jha, Contract Manager of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited, highlighted that over 650 workers have been mobilized for the ongoing construction. Current activities include one-side blacktopping with sub-base, construction of large bridges, and the development of retaining walls along the road and rivulet banks. Jha added that the project aims to complete one-side blacktopping along a 42-kilometer stretch of the road soon.
