KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 13

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 803,878 on Wednesday with 326 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 778,350 with 609 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,261 with four more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 5,594 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 3,671 were PCR tests while 1,923 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,306,902 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 39 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 365.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.8 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 14,267.

Currently, there are 232 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Globally, over 239 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 216 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
