KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 11

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 776,325 on Friday with 777 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 738,034 with 1,368 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,936 with 12 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 9,840 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,137 were PCR tests while 3,703 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,014,183 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 217 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 994.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.1 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 27,355.

Currently, there are 317 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 230 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 85 and 42 cases respectively.

Globally, over 224 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.6 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 201 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
