KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 28
Nepal on Sunday reported 78 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 274,143.
Of the newly infected, 30 are females and 48 are males.
The highest number of infections is observed in Kathmandu district with 26 cases, Kaski with 18 cases and Bhaktapur with six cases.
Likewise, 82 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 270,407 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.6 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 962.
The nationwide death-toll reached 2,774 with one Covid-related fatality reported today.
According to the health ministry, 2,532 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,162,936 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 68 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 274,065 with 81 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 114 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.5 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.
Likewise, over 89 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 21 million cases are still active.
