17 injured in Kanchanpur school bus accident
UPDATE
KANCHANPUR: The number of people injured after a school bus met with an accident in Kanchanpur of far-western Nepal has reached 17.
According to police, the accident took place when a tipper tried to overtake the bus ferrying students of a private school.
Preparations were being made to take critically injured students, who were rushed to a medical clinic at Jhallari, for further treatment.
The bus driver is said to be on the run.

8 injured in Kanchanpur school bus accident
KANCHANPUR: At least seven students and a teacher were injured when a school bus met with an accident near the Chautara River at Dulaina in the district on Wednesday.
The incident occurred when the bus belonging to the Chandra Surya Boarding School (Ma 1 Kha 607) tried to overtake a tipper this morning, according to Inspector Sudam Rawal of the Area Police Office, Jhalari.
The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jhalari and are out of danger.
Police said that they are searching for the bus driver who fled the scene after the incident.
