Works have been halted in Kalaiya Sub-metropolitan office as staffers staged a protest demanding action against Ward No 4 Chair, Jata Shankar Sahani, today.

Staffers staged a protest outside the sub-metropolis office saying that Sahani had attempted to attack Chief Administrative Officer, Harinarayan Belbase. Ward offices, health facilities and community schools in the sub-metropolis were also closed following the protest. Service seekers have been hit hard after the sub-metropolis office was closed. Meanwhile, staffers at District Administration Office also registered an FIR against Sahani and halted work. They said they registered the FIR demanding security and action against Sahani. The staffers said they would not return to work until their demands were addressed.

CAO Belbase said Ward No 4 Chair Sahani tried to attack him at the planning department of the sub-metropolis.
