Action will be taken against betrayers of election: NC Prez Deuba
DHANGADHI: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has warned that action would be taken against those betraying the same party leader in the elections.
Inaugurating the first district convention of the Nepali Congress Kailali Chapter in Dhangadhi on Friday, former Prime Minister Deuba also reiterated that his party saw huge loss in the elections owing to intra-party betrayal. "Now, no such leader betraying the party would be spared," he warned.
Deuba also said that he would not take rest until the party organisation is made strong as it was before. He further said the left forces were imposing authoritarianism and trying to enfeeble democracy. But, it must be thwarted, he stressed.
"Although I had tried to upgrade the Gauriphanta border point of Dhangadhi, the Oli-government kowtowed before the Indian government. Conspiracy was being hatched to close Gauriphanta border point, which must be aborted," Deuba said.
On the occasion, central members Ramesh Lekhak and Ishwari Neupane seconded President Deuba that the country was facing the risk of authoritarianism and dictatorship. Therefore, the NC leaders and cadres must be aware, they argued.
