KATHMANDU, MARCH 15
Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, has committed to ensuring transparency in the distribution of agricultural grants, emphasizing that past irregularities will not be repeated.
Speaking at the Agro Investment Conference organized by the Agro Enterprise Centre of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, the Minister assured that the government has taken significant steps to disclose all details related to the grants.
"Now, all the related details are accessible," Minister Adhikari stated, highlighting the government's efforts to provide transparency. Over the past five years, the government has allocated Rs 1.05 billion in agricultural grants. He further mentioned that direct allocations from the ministry, a practice followed in the past, have now been halted.
The Minister stressed the importance of collective efforts to achieve agricultural self-sufficiency, noting that the private sector's contributions alone are insufficient to meet the agricultural goals set by the State.
