Alleged migration fraud held from Jhapa

KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested an alleged migration fraud, who had made false promises of sending many to the United States just to swindle them.

A team of law enforcers from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Nim Nath Gautam of Topgachhi in Jhapa while he was hiding at his relative's house in Parabari-5 of the district today.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the victims, police had already arrested the suspect's accomplices Jay Bahadur Bhandari of Kanchanpur and Jay Singh Dhami of Darchula on October 28.

According to police, the trio had swindled the US visa aspirants of Rs 6.3 million before going out of the contact.

Police are investigating further into the case.
