KATHMANDU, MAY 7
The American Corner Biratnagar has been officially relaunched at the Purbanchal University School of Management in Morang, aiming to expand youth engagement and access to educational resources in Koshi Province.
The relocation, supported by the U.S. Embassy Nepal, is part of efforts to strengthen the American Spaces network and enhance collaboration with local academic institutions.
The relaunch event brought together students, educators, media representatives and community stakeholders, and concluded with a networking session focused on future partnerships.
Now operating from the university premises, the centre is expected to broaden its reach as a hub for students and young professionals. It will offer free access to English language learning, digital tools, business training, educational resources and EducationUSA services.
Officials said the upgraded facility would expand programmes in youth leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, digital skills and civic engagement to prepare young people for global opportunities.
As part of the initiative, student volunteers from the university have been mobilised as 'Student Associates' to support programme delivery and outreach, ensuring youth participation and community responsiveness.
