115th International Women's Day

The Inter-Generational Feminist Forum (IGFF) is an informal feminist group established in 2019 to advance the feminist agenda and promote the women's movement across Nepal through an inclusive approach. It originated from two Thought Workshops supported by UN Women, Nepal. IGFF is hosted by Tewa and supported by Nagarik Aawaz.

The IGFF launched a nationwide feminist campaign titled 'Anupam Abhiyan', spanning from 2080 to 2084 BS (2023/24 to 2027/28). As we enter the second year of this initiative, we are actively conducting nationwide journeys as part of our collective effort towards unity and to empower women politically and enhancing their meaningful participation in decision-making processes. The campaign started off with a cross-regional bus journey from east to west which was completed this past Chaitra (March/April, 2024). Following this bus journey, similar events have been conducted throughout the year across provinces, districts, municipalities, and wards.

The primary goal of the five-year Anupam Abhiyan is to contribute towards building a just and equitable society and to empower women politically. This campaign aims to amplify the voices of marginalised communities and women, ensuring their active participation in decision-making roles at all levels of the nation. By redirecting the course of externally-driven development towards one that fosters self-respect and self-reliance, the campaign seeks to empower those left behind.

In 2081 BS (2024), the campaign has organised nationwide journeys through various means of transportation, including walking, cycling, tempos, and buses. Through these efforts, the goal of the campaign is to expand its reach, increasing its recognition and involving more feminist allies in the movement. - Tewa
