Army says it has blasted Maoist arms factory

The security forces today claimed that they destroyed a weapon factory of the Maoists during an aerial strike in rural areas of Doti district last night.

According to a security source, the aerial attack began from Barchhen village development committee in the evening following a tip-off that the Maoists were making arms and ammunitions there. The forces launched strike after they spotted a group of people on blue dresses making weapons in huts in between two hills at the Barchhen VDC, 10 miles from the Kailali’s Pandaun, the security source said.

The source also claimed that the factory was probably the biggest arms and ammunition factory in the country.

One hut was completely destroyed while seven others were damaged, the source claimed adding that 300 technicians were involved in making the arms.
