Around Rs 10 mln collected to upgrade school in Myagdi

BABIYACHAUR: The locals as well as people from the district residing overseas have contributed around Rs 10 million for the upgrading a local school at Malika Rural Municipality in Myagdi district.

A fund raising campaign launched by the locals since April last year to upscale Bhim Secondary School at Malika Rural Municiaplity-5 in the district was rounded off amid a programme held in the school premises recently.

According to the School Principal, Dambar Bahadur Gharti in Myagdi, folks from Deviisthan, former students of the schools, locals and those from the district residing abroad contributed money for this purpose.

"A revolving fund would be set up with the amount," shared Principal Gharti.

Dil Bahadur Pun, Chairperson of the School Management Committee, also the main coordinator of the fundraising campaign said that facilities as library, computer classes and a modern lab would be installed in the School with the amount collected.

The names of those making donations above Rs 10,000 will be inscribed in a stone which will be put on a display in the school premises, according to the School Management Committee.

There are altogether 256 students in the school that runs class upto secondary level.
