Kathmandu:

A public interest litigation was filed at the Supreme Court challenging the assigning of Arun-III to an Indian power company-Sutlej Energy Corporation. Stating that the information regarding the deal was not given to the petitioners, a group of people including advocate Ravin Subedi, filed the PIL jointly. The petitioners have sought an apex court order to the government to discuss Arun-III issue in the parliament for approval by a two-thirds majority and make public all the information and documents signed with the India based company. — HNS
