Badimalika to be developed into a tourist spot

BAJURA: Nepal Army and the Department of Archaeology have initiated the preservation of Badimalika, which is identified as one of the four pilgrimage sites of Nepal carrying religious as well as touristic significance.

The preservation of Badimalika region, which is a pluriannual plan, includes conservation of the Badimalika temple along with arrangement for tourist accommodation and facilities of drinking water, says Chief of the Department of Archaeology, Damodar Gautam. He added that a thorough plan has already been prepared and activities towards the same will be carried out soon.

The first phase study of the plan was made Thursday by Nepal Army and the Department of Archeology along with their technical team. A budget of over 30 million has been estimated for the first phase of the plan.

Badimalika has long been a tourist destination, especially for several domestic as well as Indian tourists who visit the place for religious purpose. The destination is mostly reached via helicopters due to the unavailability of road networks.
