BAJURA, FEBRUARY 11

The construction of a bailey bridge over the Budhiganga River in Badimalika Municipality along the Sange-Martadi road section of Bajura has been completed following which vehicular movement on the road has resumed.

The construction of the bridge was started after the old bailey bridge was swept away by the flood over the river on August 9, disrupting transportation between the district headquarters and other parts of the district.

To facilitate the traffic movement, a motorable wooden bridge was constructed over the river on December 29.

Sanphebagar Road Division Office had opened a tender of Rs 18.8 million for the construction of the Bailey bridge. M/S MK Builders and Construction Company Pvt Ltd, Dhangadi, Kailali had received the contract for the same.

"The construction of the bridge was completed within the expected time frame of Magh-end of Nepali calendar," informed Lalit Khanal, Chief of Sanfe-Martadi Road Division.
