The Sudurpaschim Province government has announced Rs 4 million in relief for victims of the devastating fire that broke out in Bamka Bazaar, Budhiganga Municipality–6, Bajura, on Friday.
The blaze, triggered by a cooking gas cylinder explosion at the Navadurga Hotel, destroyed 31 houses and shops, causing an estimated Rs 150 million in property damage, according to security officials.
Following the incident, a meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Control Council, chaired by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, decided to provide the assistance to Budhiganga Municipality. The province will consider additional support once a full damage assessment is completed, it has been reported.
The meeting also approved the immediate distribution of 15 tents, 34 blankets, and 34 tarpaulins to affected families.
