After successful treatment, Kranti Rokaya of Bajura's Gaumul Rural Municipality, has returned home.
Earlier, this daily, along with various mainstream media, had published a report on Rokaya, 15, of Manakot, Gaumul Rural Municipality, who had been battling for life due to lack of treatment. Bajura's Kranti Rokaya, 15, of Manakot,
Gaumul Rural Municipality was suffering from a number of ailments including TB, malnutrition, fever, and cough. Her family had taken her to Bajura District Hospital and then to Achham's Bayalpata Hospital, but upon being told to keep her at the hospital for two months, they had brought her back home due to lack of money.
After reading a news report about Kranti's condition, a German national Marianne Grospietch from Germany had expressed her concern and had got her rescued.
Shanti Sewa Griha Kathmandu had rescued Kranti and taken her to Kathmandu. "She, along with her mother, has been sent home after she was treated for four months," said Shanti Sewa Griha programme coordinator Bijendra Kunwar.
"My daughter was battling for life, but thank god we received help, she could be sent to Kathmandu and treated. Now she is back home fully treated," Kranti's mother said, thanking all who helped in her rescue, treatment, and those who did everything for her daughter.
It's important to note that Kranti's father Bishe Rokaya had died due to lack of treatment 15 years ago.
