Bajura youth suffering from kidney failure gets financial support
BAJURA: The collection of funds has been started to support the treatment of Dhan Bahadur Bohora of Budhinanda Municipality-9 in Bajura district.
Twenty-seven-year-old Bohora, who is suffering from kidney failure has been waiting for the treatment in Bir Hospital, Kathmandu for a month.
Although the doctors suggested the need for Bohora's kidney transplant, lack of finance was creating a hurdle. After Bohora's poor condition was exposed through THT Online and other social media, people started offering financial support for the treatment.
Parliamentarian Pemba Gurung Bhote's spouse Suni Gurung who has been residing in USA, collected Rs 100,108 from people and donated the amount for Bohora's treatment.
"I read about his condition on news published on the online portal. After going through it, I decided to extend my support, and also encouraging others to help him," said Gurung, the permanent resident of Budhinanda-9 in the district.
Likewise, Manju Katuwal and her husband Amrit Kumar Karki, both residing in South Korea, offered Rs 10,000 as support after reading about Bohra's condition on THT. Meera, a social campaigner and a nurse by profession informed that Sunil Pahari has also donated Rs 8,220 for Bohora's treatment.
Bohora who had come to Kathmandu to carry out the procedure to go abroad in search of job, visited the hospital for a checkup following the swelling of his hands and legs. Later, he was diagnosed with kidney failure.
Since his blood group does not match with his wife, and his parents being above 60 years of age the only possible solution was to get a kidney donated in exchange for money.
