GAUSHALA: The indefinite Madesh bandh called by the United Madhesi Front has severely hit public life in Mahottari.

Travellers have suffered due to absence of public transport that has stayed off the roads due to the repeated bandh. Furthermore, daily wage earners have been the hardest hit.

Local bazaars, factories and industries have already remained shut. As a result, the locals have been forced to go to the nearby Indian market for daily essentials as well as medical treatment.

Meanwhile, leaders and cadres of the parties affiliated to the Front have been organising demonstrations in the district headquarters Jaleswor to make the bandh successful.

The parties have been protesting against the six-province model tabled by the major political parties.
