Rautahat, August 8:

The JTMM-J today called a three-day bandh in Bara, Parsa and Rautahat to protest the murder of three of its cadres last Friday.

On the first day of the bandh, no long or short route vehicle plied from Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat. Rural markets remained closed. A few vehicles plied the East-West highway. No untoward incident occurred on the first day of the bandh, said police.

In Bara, the Kalaiya bazaar remained closed. No vehicle plied in Birgunj and all markets remained closed there. Meanwhile, locals said the three JTMM-J cadres had indeed gone to commit robbery in Ramaulibairiya VDC and got killed when the people offered resistance.
