DHADING: Banks have come into operation in all local level centres of Dhading district except Ruby Valley Rural Municipality.

With the opening of Rastriya Banijya Bank branch in Semjong area of Netravati Dabajong Rural Municipality-3 recently, 12 out of 13 local levels now have banks. A Bank has yet to be established in Ruby Valley Rural Municipality.

The government had issued a directive to all the banks through the central bank to extend their services in all local level centres. However, people in Natravati Dabajong and Ruby Valley had to visit the district headquarters to avail banking services.

Meanwhile, Netravati Dabajong Rural Municipality has started its transaction through the bank, according to ward chair Durga Kumar Shakya. All financial transactions including development and construction budget and social security allowance will be carried out through the bank Shakya said.

Owing to the location of the bank, people in Megang Rural Municipality of Nuwakot district will also be able to get the banking services.

Although Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) got permission to extend its branch in Netravati Dabajong about three years ago, it has not opened one yet, said ward chair.
