BARDIYA: Bardiya was declared a fully literate district amidst a programme here.

In the programme, Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokhrel yesterday announced that the district had been successful to make itself literate.

On the occasion, Minister Pokhrel lauded the role various sectors had played on wiping out illiteracy from the district.

The district has a literacy rate of 96.41 per cent among the population ranging from 15 to 60 age group.

District Education Officer Jit Bahadur Saha informed that the students from grade 9 and 10 were mobilised under the practical education to help in the literacy campaign in the district.
