Bharatpur Metropolis will be model city in Asia: Mayor Dahal

CHITWAN: Newly elected mayor and deputy mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City have declared to develop the Metropolis as a model city in Asia.

Addressing a victory rally in Narayangadh in Chitwan today CPN Moist Centre's Renu Dahal said she would take all on board for the development of the Metropolitan City.

Dahal, also urged the local people to constantly warn the local representatives in development process of the Metropolis. "I will never betray people's sentiment and will fulfill my promises at any cost," Dahal stressed.

She also said that Bharatpur Metropolis is rich in natural resources and will put forth plan and polices to make it as a model city.

The victory rally was started from Chaubiskothi and circled around the city before converging into corner meeting in Pulchowk of Narayangadh this afternoon.

On the occasion, all the victorious ward chairman and other political parties leaders and cadres were present in the rally.

Similarly, Bharatpur Metropolitan City's Deputy Mayor Parbati Shah Thakuri said she would work closely with all the elected members for the development of the Metropolis.

CPN-UML mayoral candidate Devi Prasad Gyawali has accused the government of his defeat in the re-polling in ward number 19.

However, Gyawali said, he was pleased to live in the hearts of many people before facing a defeat in the re-polling due to conspiracy hatched against him by the ruling government.

Meanwhile, Gyawali said he is committed to working for people's welfare in the district.

Earlier, Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre had forged an alliance for the mayoral post of the Metropolis in the local level election to contain CPN-UML.
