KATHMANDU: A person died after a taxi hit the bike he was riding on at Khandbari of Sankhuwasabha district on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as motorcycle rider Dipak BK (23) of Kulung-5 in Bhojpur district.

The incident occurred when the taxi (Ko 1 Ja 621) heading towards Hile of Dhankuta district hit the two-wheeler (Ba 68 Pa 2293) near Manakamana Petrol Pump along the Koshi Highway at around 7:30 am today.

BK, who was critically injured in the incident, was rushed to the Manakamana Hospital in Tumlingtar, Sankhuwasabha for treatment. But, he succumbed to injuries there.

Police have impounded the taxi and arrested its driver for investigation.
