KATHMANDU, APRIL 2
Birgunj Metropolitan City has continued its campaign to identify encroachments on public property and remove illegally constructed structures along roadsides.
The campaign was initiated in response to the obstruction caused to road expansion efforts by such structures. The local government has sustained its efforts due to the growing trend of encroachment on public ponds and land, leading to the construction of physical structures on these areas.
As part of the ongoing campaign, the metropolis demolished houses and huts in Ward No. 29 on Monday. Currently, a 7.5-kilometer blacktopped road from Bagahi to Paras Chowk, passing through Musaili Basaldilwa, Bakner, and Parsagadhi, is under construction.
