A group of Maoists last night exploded a bomb in Small Heaven Higher Secondary School at Kalyanpur of Bharatpur Municipality-13, Chitwan. The school is owned by PABSON central president, Umesh Shrestha. According to the principal of the school, Karna Thapa, 10 armed Maoists entered the school premises and planted a bomb in the administrative block after overpowering the security guards at gunpoint at around 8:30 pm. Then after, the Maoists set ablaze a school bus. The bomb went off immediately after the Maoists fled the scene after torching the bus. Thapa said the blast damaged school building, computers, television, telephone lines, furniture and other goods. The damage has been estimated at around Rs 5 million.
