Bomb found at FNCCI Khotang president's house

KHOTANG: A bomb was found in the house of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Khotang District President Rajendra Layalu in Diktel Municipality-2 on Monday.

A Nepal Army team deployed from Shergan Mudhe Barrack found the wired detonator at the porch of Layalu’s house.

DSP Bidhyananda Majhi of the District Police Office has stated that the bomb has been removed and successfully defused.

It is assumed that the bomb was placed as a threat to Layalu, for playing a role in defying a bandh called by the agitating parties on Sunday.

Layalu has also expressed the same concern over the issue.

It was also suspected that the bomb was aimed to disturb the preparations for a joint meeting, of the three major parties- Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Unified CPN-Maoist, to be held to welcome the newly promulgated constitution in Diktel, today itself.

The very incident has angered the entrepreneurs of the district, Chief Secretariat Suman Prasda Joshi stated. They organised a protest rally that turned into corner rally to show their dissatisfaction, in Tribeni Chok, he added.

The person who placed the bomb is yet to be ascertained.
