Ambulance mishap

ITAHARI: Chandra Bahadur Shrestha (45) of Ekamba, who was critically injured after an ambulance heading to Dharan from Janakpur hit him at Balgram in Itahari, died on Saturday. Shrestha breathed his last while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. According to the police, nine persons travelling in the ambulance were also injured. — HNS

Fatal mishap

MAHOTTARI: At least one person was killed and four were injured when a bus, heading to Rajbiraj from Kathmandu, turned turtle at Duteshwor in the district on Saturday. The deceased is Mukesh Karki, handyman of the vehicle. He died on the spot. The injured were undergoing treatment in the Area Health Post, Bardibas, said SP Krishna Gautam. The bus driver was under the influence of alcohol which led to the fatal accident, Ramesh Karki, a passenger said. The driver has been absconding following the mishap. — HNS
