Byas to construct quake-resistant complex

Byas Municipality is all set to construct a modern quake-resistant office structure with a lift system in Tanahun.

The estimated budget for the construction of the multi-purpose complex has been set at Rs 113 million.

Rabindra Lal Mul, an engineer at the municipality, said that Byas Municipality will invest Rs 6.5 million and the government will invest a matching fund, while the Urban Development Fund will provide the remaining Rs 100 million for the building.

Byas municipality Executive Officer Dilli Ram Sigdel signed a memorandum of understanding with Executive Director of the fund Harka Bahadur Chhetri on May 8.

The four-storey building will be constructed within an area of 1.24 ropani.

Dilli Ram Sigdel said, “The municipality will be generating more income and service delivery will be expedited as the construction of the building progresses.”

The construction work is estimated to be complete in 15 months. Sources claim that this building will be the first of its kind in the district.
