Mahottari, January 31:

Constituent Assembly member from Mahottari-3 Ganesh Nepali continued his fast-onto-death strike for the fourth day today, demanding withdrawal of the government’s decision to set up an administrative service centre in Bardibas.

NC leader Suresh Pandeya and Baidhyanath Mandal of the Joint Struggle Committee, Matihani, have also joined the strike. Health worker Girendra Jha said their condition was worsening. The fast of the trio started at 9 am on Wednesday, while other protesters have also been holding a relay hunger strike.

The Jaleshwor bandh has crippled life in the district. Agitators demonstrated at different places by burning tyres. Shops, factories and transport services have been closed.
