Call bypass operators made public

Police have made public five persons, who were arrested for their alleged involvement in operating a call bypass centre illegally, at a press meet organised at District Police Office, Kavre, today.

The accused are Keshab Raj Poudel, 29, of Mangala Rural Municipality, Myagdi; Bikash Lama, 22, and Binod Kumar Mainali, 32, of Roshi Rural Municipality; Sujan Tamang, 24, of Chauri Deurali Rural Municipality, Kavre; and Rabi Thapa, 24, of Phusku Rural Municipality, Dolakha.

Police said the accused youths were arrested from a house belonging to Chandra Maya Tamang of Banepa-Municipality along with some devices used for call bypass yesterday. SP Sahakul Thapa at District Police Office, Kavre, said a joint police team, acting on a tip-off, deployed from Central Investigation Bureau and Area Police Office, Banepa, had arrested the youths after a long investigation.

SP Thapa added that the police team had seized two routers, micro-modium USB, one smart solar battery, one pen drive, two SIM cards, one multi-plug, and a laptop, among others, from the arrested.

SP Thapa, also informed that some Indian nationals were involved in operating illegal call bypass centre.
