Chand-led party’s activities against statute, state: Home Minster Thapa

Dhangadi, May 23

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today warned that no one acting against the statute and the prevailing law of the land would be spared.

Speaking at a press meet in Dhangadi, Home Minister Thapa said that activities launched by the Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party were aimed against statute and state. Thapa said the government was doing homework to settle anti-statute activities of the NCP through political and administrative channels.

Thapa warned that legal means would be taken if the NCP did not come to the negotiation table to settle the problem in a peaceful manner.

Stating that any form of syndicate was not acceptable, Thapa held that the campaign to remove the syndicate system would not stop until all kinds of syndicates were removed. He reiterated that prosperity and development of the country was not possible unless all forms of syndicate were removed. He warned that no one involved in corruption, delay and negligence would be spared.

Thapa termed the establishment of republic, end of monarchy and unity between the two communist parties an unprecedented phenomenon. He claimed that unification between the then UML and the CPN-Maoists would contribute significantly to development and prosperity of the country.
