CIEDP extends deadline for complaint registration

KATHMANDU: The Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) on Sunday said it extended the deadline for victims to register complaints till August 10.

According to spokesperson of the transitional justice body, Bishnu Pathak, the deadline was extended considering requests from the victims.

A meeting presided over by CIEDP Chairperson Lokendra Mallik made the decision to this effect today, according to Pathak.

Earlier, the Commission had called for complaints regarding enforced disappearances during the decade-long Maoist insurgency, setting the deadline of Friday, July 15.
