The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre has sought clarifications from four of its Province 2 Provincial Assembly members over news reports that they had joined the CPN-UML.

The letters seeking clarification, which was issued by the CPN-MC's central committee bears party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal's signature. The letter has asked the PA members concerned to clarify whether the news reports are true.

CPN-MC PA member Ramchandra Patel, who was elected from Dhanusha, Kundan Kushwaha from Rautahat, and Jwala Kumari Sah from Bara, and proportional PA member Samira Ansari from Bara have been asked to submit their written clarifications within 24 hours.

With the party seeking clarification from the PA members in question, their PA membership has come under risk.

According to sources, the party is likely to take action against these PA members if their clarification fails to satisfy the leadership.
