Cold takes lives of five in Siraha

SIRAHA: As many as five people lost their lives due to health complications following cold weather in Siraha district in last ten days.

The deceased are Mohammad Abdul, 23, of Kalyanpur Municipality-8, Rabindra Yadav, 25, of Bariyarpatti Rural Municipality-5, Arun Kumar Yadav, 25, of Mirchaiya Municipality-11, Biltu Mahato, 70, of Karjanha Municipality-3 and another one whose name and address is unidentified, said District Administration Office, Siraha.

Chief Administrative Officer Pradeep Raj Kandel shared that human losses due to cold is in Tarai comes inevitably each year. He said District Disaster Management Committee is formulating plans to reduce this.

Despite the fact that those who died had some kind of illness, the cause of their death is cold, Kandel clarified.

He further shared that other five persons sustained burnt injuries due to fire lit to escape the cold. They are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

Meanwhile, different organisations have aided 150 families of affected areas such as Sukhipur (130 families), Golbazaar (20 families) with warm clothes.
