The spread of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is gradually slowing down in the district as in the last 24 hours only 10 persons tested positive for the infection.

Among the 135 swab samples that underwent PCR testing at the COVID-19 Hospital in district headquarters Gaur since yesterday (Tuesday), 10 people were diagnosed with the highly contagious respiratory infection, according to the District Administration Office (DAO). Meanwhile, 349 patients were discharged during the same period.

The DAO stated that as of today, 1,136 cases of the infection have been detected of which 349 persons have been discharged. Furthermore, 51 patients battling COVID-19 have succumbed to the ailment in course of treatment in Rautahat, informed the Chief District Official (CDO), Indradev Yadav.

Currently, there are 738 active cases of the infection while in the last 24 hours three lives of Rautahat denizens were claimed by the infection, added Yadav.

The authorities' asserted that due to the stringent COVID-19 lockdown measures in place, the rate of infection has slowed down in the district as of late.
