Nationwide death-toll has reached 3,164 with 28 Covid-related fatalities reported today.

KATHMANDU, APRIL 25

Nepal on Sunday reported 3,032 fresh infections from across the country. With this, the total countrywide infection count has now advanced to 300,119.

Of the newly infected, 1,178 are females and 1,854 are males.

Meanwhile, antigen tests confirmed 90 positives in the past 24 hours. As such, total infections from both RT-PCR and antigen tests added up to 3,122 today.

Of the total cases that surfaced in the last 24 hours, Kathmandu district holds the highest number of new infections -- 1,132 cases. Lalitpur reported 270 cases whereas 96 new cases were reported from Bhaktapur.

Likewise, 450 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 277,573 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate from the disease stands at 92.5 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 19,382.

According to the health ministry, 10,078 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 9,292 were PCR tests while 786 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 2,405,017 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 69 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 297,087 with 2,486 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 146 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 124 million people have recovered while more than 19 million cases are still active.
