KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 16

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 781,989 on Thursday with 1,165 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 745,215 with 1,689 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,002 with 11 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 15,179 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,208 were PCR tests while 3,971 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,068,591 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 346 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,511.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.3 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 25,772.

Currently, there are 220 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 293 cases in the country. Morang is second in line with 120 cases while Lalitpur has 98 cases today.

Globally, over 227 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.6 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 203 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
