Of 183 swab samples, 127 test positive

NEPALGUNJ, APRIL 16

Of the 183 swab samples that underwent test for COVID-19, 127 people tested positive for COVID-19 at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj today.

Issuing a notice on hospital's Facebook page, the health facility said the infection rate was 69.4 per cent. If the positive COVID cases spread at the same rate, hospitals can no longer accommodate COVID patients in Nepalgunj.

This is the first time that the hospital has recorded such a high number of infections in a single day. The infection rate shows that COVID has spread at the community level.

"Bheri Hospital is committed to treating COVID patients," said hospital chair Pramod Rijal.

The hospital has urged all and sundry to take necessary precautions in a bid to subdue the COVID spread. The COVID caseload suggests that it has spread at the community level.
