The Ministry of Health and Population has expanded the total number of COVID-19 vaccination centres considering the increasing flow of people coming to receive vaccines.
MoHP joint spokesperson Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari shared that a total of 1,433 new vaccination centres have been added across the country. This takes the total number of vaccination centres in Nepal to 4,422.
Likewise, in Kathmandu valley, the number has been increased to 149, after 83 centres were added.
So far, 4.4 million people have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 2.2 million have received both their doses in Nepal.
The government has, till date, administered Covishield vaccines received from India, China's Vero Cell and the United States of America donated Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
With the recent supply of AstraZeneca vaccine from various countries, the senior citizens awaiting their second dose for long will now be fully vaccinated.
