Search and rescue efforts began early Monday morning amid adverse weather conditions

KATHMANDU, MAY 30

​​​​​​Search efforts for the Tara Air plane that has been missing for over 20 hours resumed Monday morning.

Patrol and search units from security forces, and groups of locals continued the on-foot search amid adverse weather conditions in the Dhaulagiri region.

Meanwhile, as the efforts progressed, it has been learnt that the location of the aircraft, which was revealed to have crashed, has been physically tracked by search troops.

Nepali Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Narayan Silwal took to social media to announce that the troops have found the site of the crash.

According to Silwal, the crash-site is Sanosware, Thasang-2 in Mustang, where the wreckage of the plane was located.

The aircraft that took-off for Jomsom from Pokhara on Sunday at 9:55 minutes had lost contact with the control towers a few minutes after flying, having established contact at the Jomsom airport a little after 10:00 am.

Search efforts were carried the day throughout on May 29, but the bad weather was posing as a challenge for progression of the same.

Efforts had resumed early on Monday, which discovered the unfortunate plight of the aircraft which had 22 people onboard.
